Midnight Snack

Ok, I am not sure if I have discussed how messed up my diet is. Tonight, for dinner we ordered out because I was far too lazy to fix dinner. I love Footers. Anyways, while playing SWG tonight, I got kinda hungry. So, what to do? Well, I pull some meat out of the freezer, sliced it up, and fried it up and smothered it with A1 sauce. That, some rice, and a Rolling Rock. I have issues.

Food is good: Beef stew and Apple Strudle
Posted on: 2004-10-14 21:11:34, by talam

Well, dinner tonight was apparently a success. Once again, we had the sister-in-law and her roommate over. The meal was beef stew, from the crock pot, served in bread bowls (yes, I am obsessed with these things...get over it). The bowls I have on the site somewhere, so no repeat on the recipe. Tonight I kinda rushed them so they were not as good as normal. The beef stew is another adaption of a Betty Crocker recipe, but both the base recipe and my bastardization or it are simple.

I think I am content now.

Yeah, so I have mentioned a couple of times about working on a chili recipe. I think I found one I like. It is basically a rip from a Betty Crocker book with a few adjustments.

I have no respect for my body.

Ok, so the wife is out of town yet again this week. We are not playing DnD this week since half the crew is out of town. So basically, I have the apartment to myself. So what do I do? Yes, that is right, I got Taco Bell on the way home. Two hard tacos and a mexican pizza all covered in Fire sauce. Damn it was good. And it will stay good, for at least another hour...then I will start cursing myself. How do I know this is going to happen? I have eaten at Taco Bell before. Hell, I had Taco Bell within the last week, and yes, I was cursing myself after that lapse of judgement as well.

Mint Chocolate brownies: Good idea, bad results
Posted on: 2004-03-23 00:00:00, by talam

Well, ok, so I have not made any type of baked desert since I was in Jr High School (with the exception of premaid cookie dough), and even then it was only once or twice. I followed a recipe pretty much to the exact detail, and tomorrow, I am going to have to clean out carmelized sugar out of a glass container. It is so going to suck.

Food is good: yup, another food thing.

Yeah, so, I have been wanting to make some chili for quite awhile now. I keep forgetting to call home and ask for the parents recipe (no one makes chili as good as the stuff you grew up with), and they failed to answer the phone today. For some reason I think they are out of town, but I am fairly mindless right now (was up till like 4am reinstalling Windows, and then got up around 9:30am and could not get back to bed). I had mentioned to punk boy that if he wanted to come over tonight that would be cool, cause the food thing was on. Anyways, he ran home instead...ass. Guess we are going to try again next week.

Kinda regretting the rice: But it was still good.
Posted on: 2004-03-03 00:00:00, by talam

1 loaf (1 pound) of frozen bread bowl, thawed
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
some basil and garlic salt
1 can dark and light chicken (yes too lazy to work from scratch)
about 6 or 7 small carrots cut in pieces (cuz we only had baby carrots)
1 medium sized potato cut in small pieces
like, 3 cups water
some basil, rosemary, thyme, celery salt, ground pepper, and pulty seasoning
about 1 cup of rice (wish I knew why, though)

Atkins Be Damned:No carbs, yeah right.
Posted on: 2004-02-09 00:00:00, by talam

Well, I think I proved tonight that neither me or Erin would ever be able to do the Atkins diet. I made spaghetti and garlic bread. Admittidly I did put an inordinate amount of sausage, which I guess would make most Atkins freaks feel good, but it would never pass with the happy little carbs living in the pasta. Oh well, no one ever accused me of dieting anyways.
