You knew it would happen. - Games - EverQuest
Posted on: 2006-01-04 01:01:51

I have found that I am, once again, totally addicted to EverQuest. The past few days have seen me doing nothing but playing EQ. And yes, this is the actual classic EverQuest, not the newer shinier EverQuest 2, or the emulated Shards of Dalaya. It all started because of SoD, but the combination of the free month Sony was offering for EQ and the fact that the maturity level of the SoD GMs resembles that of thirteen year olds pushed me to EQ. The game has seen a lot of changes since I last played...and a lot is the same. The tutorial is really rather well done and keeps you in quests until around 10, then they have a series of newbie armor quests that I assume span until 20. No clue what is new or changed after that, but I will get there.

The last time I was on, I dropped all my gear off on the wife and her chars, so I started over with a necromancer (I have since got back the majority of my stuff). I also started a berzerker to play along side Erin as she goes along. Oh well, I need to go log back on....

Yeah! EQ1 is really fun. SOE told me not to tell anyone, but I am going to anyways (and on your website of all places) — I was a guide for a short period of time on EQ1. It was simply amazing, but that was when EQ2 just came out and I wanted to play it more than being a guide on EQ1.

For all of your that are reading this and might want to become a guide yourself here are some helpful tips I learned in my short stay as a guide:

- If you like nothing more than to DM, then the guide program is for you.

- If you like to play and DM, then the guide program is for you if you don't mind being godlike all the time...

- If you don't mind helping people out with their random questions in-game; then the guide program is for you.

- If you don't like learning new things then the guide programs ISN'T for you. Because you might think you know mostly everything about the game. Well, you don't and the guide program will show you that you don't. On the flip side, you get the expansions for free!

Oh no.......... Sony is at the door. RUN! LOL.

NOOOOooooo....

I too have reinstalled EQ and am rebuilding my enchanter. I completely gave away all his coin and deleted him when I quite (as well as all other chars I had) knowing I would never, EVER, come back.

LOL

NOT

I'm back and loving it. Now I just have to remember to never group with anybody I don't know and trust, and make sure I leave ample time to do my real life work. Then I'll be all set.

That must be Mike's comment up there. He must have been on my computer...because those words would NOT come out of my mouth.

Good luck ever leaving your computer.

Over a week
