Me, myelf, and you tube. [Music ] [Video ] [Computer ] [Anime ]

I've been on You Tube a lot recently. Which says something bad.

It wasn't until the summer that I got so bored that I actually joined You Tube. Aside from having a better reason to, that being high speed, I think it is mostly out of boredom. While I wasn't very active during the summer... I've become very active in the past two weeks. Things like "A Letter from Hell" and and shit load of AMVs have got me hooked. Maybe "A Letter from Hell" hasn't got me hooked on it. It is amusing to read what zealous bastards say about a fictitious letter. This one guy (not a catholic, I think) went on about how he was amazed that the guy was able to find a pencil, paper, and a mailbox in Hell. That guy also had about seven thumbs down for his comment, but that's what happens to smart asses.

As for things that I actually watch, not for some jokes or anything, those consist of AMVs. I think that is what they are called... Anyways, they consist of some song, for me they are mostly in Japanese, and a bunch of pictures or sometimes video clips, which go along with the song in some way. If you haven't guessed or suspected which anime I typically see videos for... then you don't know me very well. Yes, I would have to say that of the anime videos (Anime Music Videos?), Higurashi no Naku Koro ni is number one. Second would be Mai-HIME/Mai Otome, and third would be Fate/Stay Night. So far I've been watching AMVs that contain "character songs." I'm not going to lie that I know what they mean by "character songs," but I think it has something to do with the voice actors/actresses singing songs that are in some way related to the anime. It is possible that the songs are actually in the anime but there are too few in Higurashi to give support to this.

So, finally getting to the point that I wanted to get to... that sounds funny... Anyways, You Tube has this "recommended for you" thing, right. One of them showed this picture:

While I think it is a decent picture. I also think that she is cutting her fingers off at the same time. Which is kind of why I don't like it. I think this would be a better picture:

I think this one conveys the song better. The song is slow, flowing, and sounds sad and painful, but is so beautiful... and the picture they used just doesn't suit it...

On a side note: it is probably good that I don't know how to embed videos, because that is what I would have done. I don't think I will go gun ho! on adding videos to my site... but then again I've added a picture to all but one of my rants ever since I learned to.

I recommend listening to the song, since there really is nothing to watch. I loved it. It is the first video that I added to my favorites. Usually I just add videos to a play list just so I can find them later, but this one is different, now isn't it?

Edit: look a video.

You see the box labeled "Embed" on YouTube? You just have to copy that text (ctrl+c) and paste it into a rant (ctrl+p). Pretty simple. And there is nothing wrong with doing it, they provide you with the code in a painless manner because they want you to. That being said, if you are going to link often, you should probably limit the number on the main page...just make the page load faster. !break ftw

Just to make th page load faster?

I thought having an embedded video would make it slower than a link. What's with "!break ftw"? I don't get what you mean by it...

!break ftw

I meant that if you the main page on rooksaves.us is filled with youtube embeds, it would take longer to load. That is why on my page, I tend to limit the number of images that load. I used to be really anal about my page size, and would no let my entire main page, images and all, get over 100k. Now I don't care so much since everyone I know is on broadband of some sort, but I still like to keep it low.

ftw = for the win. Using !break's not only keep the page looking more concise, it also helps on page load, since it doesn't have to load every word/image/embed of every post...which you kind of do already.

Yeah, I know what ftw and !break are...

... I was just wondering why the fuck you had included it. There wasn't much to help conclude that there was any reason for it. Just that you really like !breaks.

I guess since everyone has high speed it doesn't really matter a whole lot now, now does it? It still doesn't mean I can go slap happy with embedding videos. Now that I know how to the risk of me doing it more has increased... for a while at least.
