My toe suxors. - DADC
Posted on: 2006-09-19 09:27:39

I have decided that I am accident prone. I don't remember ever having a problem with this before. I mean, sure, accidents happen, but they never really happened to me all that frequently...until I started at DADC. Now I seem to always have at least one bandage on my person all the time I am working. Most recently it has been my big toe on the left foot. I stubbed it bad enough that I have had this perpetual dried puss and blood crusty growth along the inside of my toe nail. And what is worse, is it is on the side by the rest of my toes so depending on what angle I step down or turn my foot I get the added pressure from those toes. I am going on about a week like this, but the last couple of days walking has been a real chore. I took a couple of days off of work to let it help heal (that and a combination of the wife being sick and sorta catching that along with lack of sleep). Sadly, it did not quite heal all the way, and last night at work was not as smooth as it could have been. It was not horrible, but it could have been better.

On a sidenote, I got both a verbal and written warning last night. Like a lot of places, DADC works on a point system, albeit a fairly wacky one, and my two "sick" days this week triggered them. They are not epic or anything, just basic reminders that I am that much closer to getting myself fired. Unlike Wal-Mart, which had a better point system even if they only used it when they wanted to fire people, DADC follows their point system. I am not really worried, I only have three months left and I doubt I will be returning next year so I doubt it will be a problem.

Your toe will fall off!

I can't get Simon to put anticeptics in his injuries either. I keep telling him that it will get infected and fall off. Put some Neosporin on it.

hmmm

It sounds like you've got an ingrown toenail.

I'll bring some epsom salts on saturday.

I am fighting the good fight.

Well, against infection that is. I am using Neosporin and I am keeping it clean.

And it's not like abuse the number of sick days I have. But I *could*. And that I appreciate.

My poor baby's feet!

I worry more about your feet since *I* am so clumsy and am so likely to step on them! Though it was funny that you kept kicking me in the back yesterday in your sleep. I moved so you wouldn't injure yourself on me, lol. At least you've got the next couple days off to heal more!
