There is this church. I don't know a lot about this church, except that it likes to underline most of the words in a sentance, promises money for payment (and not in the normal faith = fortune in the afterlife), and they have a Jesus rug. Now it is the Jesus rug I want to talk about today. But before I do that, I we will do disclaimer time. There is a point in the letter where they wax religious about not reading any farther blah blah blah. So yeah, click more if you don't care.
Now, you are supposed to stare at the Jesus rug in prayerful reflection until, well, he opens his eyes and stare back at you. Now the Jesus rug is less rug-like and more a printed piece of paper. So, once the Jesus paper-rug stares back at you, you are supposed to kneel on it and then mail it back because no one is allowed to keep a kneeled on Jesus paper-rug. Anyways, here is a snippet of scanned in Jesus paper-rug.
I am not sure how much time it will take you to notice the eyes, but they are there. It is a spiffy little optical illusion, much like the magic eye thingies. In case you don't see it, I have a slightly modified version of it. In this one I brought up the mid-tones about 20% and dropped the light value by about 10%, but other than that it is the same pic.
As you can see the eyes are more noticable on the magic-eye Jesus paper-rug. It just makes me wonder, what level of credibility do you have to lack to put out something like this. I know people want money, but to found a church around the idea just bugs me.
