Tech Support Day 1...hoping there won't be a day 2. - Mobile

I love it when you call tech support only to have your problem worse than before you called. So, about 1.5-2 weeks ago, I missed a payment, our phones where shut off the following day (which is damn speedy.), and were turned back on as soon as I could get to a landline phone (because when they shut off your phone, they don't even let you call them to pay the bill). Now in that, maybe twelve hour period something happened, and our phones haven't been the same since.

I want to preface the rest of this post real quick: I work at Radioshack. We spend about a third of our week dealing with AT&T and Sprint phones. Part of that is setting up lines and part of that is doing tech support on phones for those providers. All arrogance aside, I pretty much know what I am doing.

Now the problem, the phones don't want to send picture messages about 80% of the time. Prior to the suspension, it was fine. This is actually more common that you might think. A change is made to the account, like being suspended, and something doesn't get switched over right. Normally, it is a quick conversation, and boom, it works again. "Oh, it looks like when your phones were turned back on, the internet didn't get activated." *click* "Try it now." And I called tonight, thinking it would be something similar, especially since it was affecting both of our lines in an identical manner.

So, after about 2 hours, and 4 tech support people later, two things happened: the wife's phone is working, and I can no longer get on the net with my phone. They decided that it is the SIM card in my phone. I guess I will find out tomorrow.

So the Wife made those sandwiches about 23:00 last night?

Well, no. I was testing our picture message capability last night while on the phone with tech support. She actually made the sandwiches last week.
