I have done NaNoWriMo for the last three years. I have had a lot of fun, got a lot written (at least last year), and the month long activity kept me focused on something other than WoW. Well the fine folks that created NaNo also host a script writing month in April called Script Frenzy. The goal: 100 pages of original scripted material in 30 days. (Screenplays, stage plays, TV shows, short films, and graphic novels are all welcome.) Since I am kind of in a lull right now, I figured why not? Plus, I have had this idea in my head since late August last year that would fit into this fairly well...Okay, so it kind of fits.
But, you might ask, do I know about writing a script? Especially one that only kind of fits the norm? And my answer would be nothing. There are tons of links to resources on the Script Frenzy site and I have been poking around in there. I am hoping by the time April 1st rolls around I will be prepared enough to get my story out of my head in some cogent manner.
As for the story, I know the general plot, all the key characters (some of them better than others), the generic locations (college campus and 'home' separated by...think Terre Haute to Loogootee distance), and the timeline. I know, it sounds like a lot, but it really isn't. My idea, as I am seeing it, is almost entirely dialogue driven, and I have not written a single word of it down yet.
Oh well, it is after 5, and I am starting to pass out at the keyboard. Have fun all.
