I went out to the kitchen to grab a quick snack, came back to the computer and stared at code for about a half hour before I decided that the last thing I want to do right now is code. For some reason, my thoughts kept going back to my snack. I am not hungry and I probably could not eat another bite of food because I am not really feeling well...been kinda blah all day. But then I realized that I was kinda thinking in my head that Erin would say something about what I ate if she was awake because she always gives me wierd looks when I eat it. So I decided that I would put up a couple of examples of food, that while semi-common in my house as a child, just seem to freak others out.
We will start with tonights snack: 8 crackers + 2 pieces of American cheese + peanut butter. Assembly will be in the form of sandwiches, which should be obvious. This to me is nothing new since you can buy cheese and peanut butter crackers almost everywhere, but I still get odd looks every time I make them.
The second one will probably sound a little wierd. A quarter sized bunch of spaghetti + 2 eggs + butter (amount variable to taste..but a lot) + grated parmesan cheese + salt + pepper. I am assuming that we all know how to make pasta, so I will leave the spaghetti preperation out as an exercise for you. The only major exception, is once you drain it, toss it back in the pan with the majority of the butter and an unhealthy amount of parmesan. Scramble the eggs, I am assuming we all know how to do this as well. The salt and pepper some into play here. If you normally add salt and pepper to your scrambled eggs, take the same amount of salt you normally add and include just a little more, and half the amount of pepper you ordinarily use. Otherwise, just add a small amount of both. Also add in some parmesan, but not much since we have put a lot on the noodles. Once the eggs are done, combine with pasta, mix, and serve. Should make two large helpings. Anyways, this is one that used to get me looks, but I made just about everyone I ever lived with eat to shut them up. Yes, it is far better than it sounds. And yes, the bulk of the flavor comes from the butter and Parmesan, so if you don't like those, well, then you shouldn't be here...Go away!
And there are the potatoes, two different ones. I really don't know if other people do this or not, but it seems to work. For baked potatoes, clean, poke holes randomly, stick in a plastic sandwich bag, fold/wrap to fit it around potato, cook in microwave on high until done...it starting to get soft. Just watch your hand when you open or risk steam burn. I also kinda half pound the potato to break it up a little. The second: grease a casserole dish lightly with butter, clean potatoes, cut them in half, and place in dish. Salt and pepper lightly and put a teaspoon mat of butter on each. Bake at around 450 until edges are just starting to get crisp (I don't really like times if you have not noticed.).
I am trying to think of other oddities. I remember fajita burgers. I have never made them myself, but if I remember right, just think hamburger patties, baked, with fajita seasoning. I am blanking right now on more of them...oh well. So, anyways, are these normal?
